Warm, intelligent, feisty, strong, independent, not a pillion passenger!
After teaching for 35 years, in 5 different countries, I have now settled in southern Spain, but am happy to meet someone who doesn't live here. My retirement at the moment consists largely of doing up my house, which is an old flour mill, and my approach is very much "hands on". I'm quite comfortable with a range of tools, though I'd like to learn more about woodwork. I'm also trying to sort out the gardens, and I keep a few chickens.
I play the guitar a little, mostly to accompany myself singing,and am in the process of developing a small group. I've a good sense of humour (fairly English, having lived in England for 16 years, and worked in English environments in Spain). Mental relaxation for me is cryptic crosswords and Scrabble! I am highly independent, intelligent, and strong both physically and mentally. I ride a 750cc motorbike, have 2 dogs and a cat! Too many interests to "list", but I tend to indulge the interests which suit the moment
Friends describe me as direct, someone who calls a spade a spade. I can't really argue with that. This is not a rehearsal. However, I do try never to hurt anyone!! ( But I do not suffer fools gladly. ) I am also warm, generous, tactile, and loving, honest, and genuine. And an optimist. Other adjectives which have been used are unconventional,and sometimes feisty!
My village has about 900 inhabitants, and I am very much involved in village life, including the choir. I have little time for the English who come to Spain and make no effort to learn the language or join in.

Mi az ami után kutat?
I am not looking for a full time live in partner, but I do miss sharing. Going out for a meal, discovering hidden enchanting spots in the countryside (or villages!), that knowing look across a crowded room, holding hands for no particular reason, a good whisky while watching a spectacular sunset or with a log fire in the evening...... There are so many spots of time that can and should! be shared with someone special, even if not full time.
I'd like to meet a man who is also strong, physically and mentally. Good sense of humour, intelligent and passionate. He may or may not share my interests - I don't think it is essential, in fact it may be better to have at least SOME separate interests!! Someone who is honest and genuine, and an optimist . Someone who appreciates and feels at home in the country, sees cities as places to visit! Someone who wears jeans, and probably owns only one suit. I admire eloquence, and adore men who are practical. Someone who also believes that friendship and passion are equally important in a relationship. A man who is quite happy for me to be ME, as I would wish him to be HIM. And almost certainly that would mean someone also not quite "conventional". It would be a bonus if he also liked music, or dancing, or Scrabble, or cryptic crosswords!
So many men seem to see travel as an important part of this stage of life. With the right person, I would enjoy that, too, but at the moment, with friends and family in various countries, my travel tends to be visits to people rather than places. Nourishing friendships and family ties is important to me. But there are still some places I would like to visit just for the sake of it - perhaps India and South America.
